The Philadelphia Non-Comm Radio Conference

The Philadelphia Non-Comm Radio conference is an annual gathering of public/listener-supported radio stations to hear new music and share programming methods. As a former promoter working on those radio stations, and fresh out of my first job in music data, I wanted to let folks know what I had learned about β€œthe Music Data Ecosystem.”

This talk on data in music touches upon market-sizing, playlist evaluation, music metadata, chart numbers, concert attendance and sync/film rights as sources of revenue/data in the music industry. If I were to give a similar talk today, it would be heavily skewed toward streaming data which I was immersed in at Warner Music.
